Each local radio station in the UK is regulated by statute. The broadcasting regulator is Ofcom, which awards licences and regulates content in accordance with the broadcasting code which can be viewed at www.ofcom.org.uk
These requirements are set out in the station 'format'. This public file contains details of elements Ofcom regulate over, such as music and local news. It is intended to give you a better understanding of our output and what we are doing for the community we serve. Any comments on the public file can be made to the radio station or to Ofcom.
Sunshine 954 and 1530 is the local independent radio station for Herefordshire and Worcestershire, broadcasting on 954AM in Herefordshire and 1530AM in Worcestershire.

Sunshine 954/1530 provides on-the-hour news bulletins including local news during weekday daytime programmes.
National news will feature at other times.
Sport news is also part of our output and will be included on merit.
We broadcast regular local traffic and travel information throughout each weekday.

We are required to provide 15 hours per day locally made programmes during weekday. Made locally refers to programmes produced in Herefordshire and Worcestershire. Sometimes it is necessary to pre-record (sometimes called automation) programmes on the station.
We support many local and national charities, the precise beneficiaries varying according to need and circumstance. We also broadcast regular local What's On information, providing free publicity to charitable or non profit-making local events and organisations.
We are required to play Classic Pop Hits (ex top 40) selected predominantly from the period 10-45 years prior to broadcast. Hits less than 10 years old will never account for more than 15% of the music output.
